You have obtained your Greek tax number, and now you face a login screen in Greek. You may not know which site to use, where to find your username or what to do with the authentication key you received. Here is how to get your TAXISnet codes, log in to myAADE from abroad, read the screens and recover a lost password.
Many owners abroad use their TAXISnet codes for an annual payment and then struggle to find them the following year. Keep your username, password and authentication key in a password manager, and log in at least once a quarter to check for notices. For owners who prefer help with Greek online services, Home Watch Athens provides administrative representation alongside monthly home checks.
TAXISnet, myAADE and gov.gr: what each one is
The names overlap, so it helps to separate them:
- TAXISnet is the login system used for Greek tax services. Your TAXISnet codes are your username and password. People often call it simply “TAXIS.”
- myAADE is the Greek tax authority’s online portal and app. You use your TAXISnet codes to access services such as your E9 declaration, ENFIA notice and tax account.
- gov.gr is the Greek government’s services portal. Some services there, including digital authorisations, also use TAXISnet codes.
- Your authentication key (κλειδάριθμος) is a separate code used to activate your account or recover access. It is not your password.
If you do not yet have an AFM, start with our guide to getting a Greek tax number from abroad. The authentication key is part of that process.
Can you log in from abroad?
Yes. AADE’s services for non-residents are designed to be used from abroad. The myAADEapp is also available through the US App Store and Google Play.
You may still encounter a page that will not load or a login that fails. Start with the troubleshooting steps below.
Getting your codes: the authentication key and registration
First, obtain your AFM and authentication key. You can then register your TAXISnet login. The official gov.gr guide lists information to have ready:
- Your full name, father’s name and AFM
- A personal email address you can access
- If required for electronic delivery of the key, your mobile number, provider details, ID number and IBAN
If you are obtaining the key through a myAADElive video call, ask the AADE agent which of those details apply to your case.
Then:
- Open the TAXISnet registration page. The “ΕΛ | EN” language switch is at the top.
- Choose “Αρχική εγγραφή” (Initial registration) if this is your first registration. The page also offers “Επανεγγραφή” (Re-registration), “Ενεργοποίηση Λογαριασμού” (Account activation), “Ξέχασα τον κωδικό μου” (Password recovery) and “Ανάκτηση εκκρεμούς αίτησης” (Pending request recovery).
- Choose a username of 3 to 20 Latin letters or numbers. Create a password of at least eight characters, including a number, an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a special character.
- Activate your account using your username and authentication key. The gov.gr guide describes the key arriving in two parts, by email and SMS. AADE’s video-call guidance describes email delivery, so check both your inbox and phone.
- Change a temporary password if the system asks you to.
Logging in for the first time
- Go to myaade.gov.gr.
- Choose the TAXISnet login and enter your username and password.
- Read and follow any prompts shown on screen.
- Open the application you need from the menu. Our ENFIA guide shows the path to your E9 and ENFIA notice.
Finding your way in English
Some parts of the system are available in English, while others remain in Greek:
- aade.gr has an English version.
- The TAXISnet registration page has an “ΕΛ | EN” language switch.
- The myAADEapp is available in English. It can show your tax account, support card or IRIS payments, update the IBAN used for refunds and store documents in myWallet.
- Some myAADE forms and error messages remain in Greek.
Chrome’s browser translation can help with Greek screens. Click the Translate icon in the address bar and select English. Our Chrome Translate instructions give the steps.
Check important details against the original Greek. Do not rely on a translation of a payment code or bank details, and check anything you enter into a form before submitting it.
Forgotten password or lost key: recovering access from abroad
What you do next depends on which details you still have:
- You forgot your password but have your username and key. On the registration page, select “Ξέχασα τον κωδικό μου” (Password recovery). Enter your username and authentication key. The gov.gr guide describes this process.
- You have your username but lost your key. Request a new key through a myAADElive video call. In AADE’s guide, choose “Κλειδάριθμος” (key only), then “Ενεργώ για τον εαυτό μου” (acting for myself). Our AFM guide explains what to expect from the call.
- You no longer have the details needed for password recovery. Use “Επανεγγραφή” (Re-registration) on the registration page, as described in the gov.gr guide.
“Owners abroad may use the login only once a year and then forget where they kept it. Save your username, password and key securely, and log in every quarter. That way, you will not be trying to recover access when a payment is due.”
Yanis, Founder of Home Watch Athens
When the login will not work from abroad
Start with ordinary login checks:
- Check your credentials. Use your TAXISnet username, not your email address, and make sure your keyboard is set to Latin characters.
- Try another browser or a private window. Temporarily disable browser extensions that may interfere with the page.
- Try another connection, such as mobile data instead of Wi-Fi.
- Wait and try again. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance.
- If the page works through other connections but consistently fails from yours, you could try connecting through a VPN server in Greece.
A VPN is a workaround, not an AADE instruction. If you use one, choose a reputable provider, connect before opening the portal and disconnect when you finish. Some banking and payment pages may object to VPN connections, so turn it off before using them.
Keep your TAXISnet codes private. Do not send them to anyone by email or message.
If you still cannot log in, contact AADE through its my1521 digital service or call 1521 from within Greece. The service details are described by ProtoThema English.
Without a Greek phone number: what works
A Greek mobile number is not listed as a requirement for the myAADElive video call, but phone-number requirements vary across Greek online services.
- The AFM and key application has a phone field that accepts 10 digits without an international prefix. That can prevent some foreign numbers from being entered. See our AFM guide.
- The National Contact Register (ΕΜΕπ) supports SMS to foreign mobile numbers, according to the current GSIS FAQ. Registration options include using TAXISnet codes online or visiting a KEP or Greek consulate. Check the current instructions for the route available to you.
We have not confirmed whether every contact-number field within myAADE accepts foreign numbers.
The screens owners abroad actually use
Once you have logged in, you may need only a few parts of the portal:
- E9 and ENFIA: Check your property declaration and download your tax notice. See our guides to the E9 and MIDA and paying ENFIA from abroad.
- My Account (Debts, Payments & Refunds): Check tax debts and available payment options.
- Contact details: Keep your email address and phone number up to date so notices reach you.
- Messages and documents: Check messages in the portal and documents stored in myWallet in the app.
What’s changing: Tax Administration 3.0
A press report by Enimeroi says AADE plans to introduce a unified system called Tax Administration 3.0, starting in late 2026 and continuing through 2029. This is a reported plan, so continue to use your current login unless AADE tells you otherwise.
If you would rather have someone in Athens help with property-related administration, see our administrative representation service for owners abroad.

First, obtain an AFM and authentication key. You can then register a username and password through the TAXISnet registration page.
Is myAADE available in English?
Partly. AADE’s website and the myAADEapp have English versions, but some forms and messages remain in Greek.
I forgot my TAXISnet password. What now?
Use Password recovery with your username and authentication key. If you have lost the key, follow AADE’s process to request a new one.
