Yanis Zisis is the founder of Home Watch Athens and the person who visits every member home. Unlike most property managers, he is an Athens homeowner himself, with years of first-hand experience caring for and renovating high-value homes in the city.
Yanis was born in Volos and spent 15 years living and working in fintech in London. During that time he built his own property portfolio in Athens, and with it a practical education in what owning a home in Greece really involves: maintenance, renovations, trades, building managers and bills.
Like many overseas owners, Yanis learned how hard it is to look after a home from another country. While he was living in London, a slow leak under the kitchen sink at his Athens apartment went unnoticed. When he made a claim, his insurer turned it down because there was no record of anyone visiting the property.
It wasn't a disaster, but it made one thing clear: an empty home needs regular visits, and those visits need to be documented. When he moved back to Greece, he set out to build the service he had wanted as an owner: personal, reliable and accountable, and designed to help people who own homes here make the most of their time in Athens.
Since founding Home Watch Athens, Yanis has looked after homes across the city, from city centre apartments to Riviera homes and villas in Ekali. He has overseen renovations for members and fully renovated his own properties, so he knows what good work looks like and when corners are being cut.

We coordinate the initial key handover as part of onboarding and document access details securely from the outset.
From that point onward, the founder is the sole key holder for your property. Keys are never passed to third parties, including cleaners, technicians, tradespeople, or other contractors, unless you explicitly request and approve it in advance.
When third-party access is required, we attend in person, remain responsible for access, and supervise all work on-site. Keys are returned to secure storage immediately after each visit.
